Diving clubs have been coming down to these islands for years. Due to the lack of diving facilities the numbers have dwindled.

Islands West is changing this.

We are opening two dive centers one on Clare Island and the other on Inish Bofin. This opens the Islands to all divers and non divers. We will also be catering for sea angling, Island hopping trips and general boat charter.

We also provide courses on discover scuba diving, open water diver, advanced open water diver, medic first aid, rescue diver, specialty courses, U/W Naturalist, Boat Diver, Multilevel Diver, Dry Suit Diver, Navigation Diver, Night Diver, Search & Recovery Diver and Deep Diver.

We are located just off the west coast of Ireland host to the best scenery above and below the water, also full guaranty of leaving behind your stress. Clare Island, located just off Westport beside Achill Island, used to be the home of Granuaile, Grace O’Mally, the pirate queen. It contains her castle and an old abbey. It is also a great location for hill walking.

Inish Bofin, located off the coast of Connemara out from Cleggan, it contains an old barracks owned by Cromwell who set up there to try a defeat Granuaile. The Island has the largest natural sheltered harbor in Ireland, it also offers good walking and safe beaches to swim in. We also run trips to Inish Turk located right in the middle of Clare Island and Inish Bofin. It is a good island for walking, diving and fishing.

No matter what level of diver you are, Islands West has the experience and facilities for you.

John Mc Cabe, the owner and operator is from the islands and is a PADI Master scuba diver trainer and emergency first response instructor and has been a qualified PADI professional for over ten years.
